Stedelijk Gymnasium

National monument

This building has been constructed in 1883 to serve as a Stedelijk Gymnasium. Noteworthy: this is one of the first buildings that has been built on the "Grote Ruïne" (“Large Ruin”). This is referring to the great gunpowder disaster in 1807, which distroyed a big part of the historical centre of Leiden. At the moment the building houses, amongst others, a daycare center. The building at Doezastraat 2A has been  classified as a national monument.
